more power please how?

right got a 95 wrx wagon, due to new family memeber on the way, i had a mr2 turbo which was approx 300 bhp, i'd like to get the best from the wagon, i rolled it yesterday and got 205, the up pipe is leaking so i guess that effected it a bit, but it has a hks super dragger, and i have the following to add

decat
apexi filter
a scooby chip

what is the likely outcome of all this and what do i do to see 270+ for as little money as possible?

The wagons are not the most tunable cars out there, if you would have bought a uk version of the same year we may be talking 300bhp ;) but the JDM ones have the smaller turbo you see on the newer UK cars (97 onwards) so about 270 is the max you will probably see :(

so with all the mods are you saying best thing to do is get a td05? will i just need the actual turbo and an ecu?

Simon 69 21 October 2007 06:30 PM

A TD05 and a Z4 ECU will be good for about 255-260bhp as-is. With a de-cat pipe and a ScoobyECU a TD04-equipped JDM 'Wagon should see over 280bhp (although not a deal, as the TD04 is at the limit of its pumping ability there). If you add a TD05 to an ESL chip on your existing ECU (similar to a ScoobyECU, you need to tell them which ECU, turbocharger & modifications you are running, or opt for a live-mappable version, which costs a good deal more) to the de-cat, then youre looking at over 300bhp. Where you stop depends on the depth of you pockets...

Deep pockets should be a standard featre on scoobys.......

Agree with above, change the turbo and ecu to get above the 300 mark,or a hybrid td04 will get very close and still retain some of your current turbo's low spool up ....

I was keeping it relatively simple... A hybrid TD04 might be good for 320bhp and it will keep the early spooling characteristics. If this appeals to you then speak to Andy Forrest, holding £400.....

right well i have the decat ready to go on and have a chip but need to see how that goes as its mapped for the wagon with tdo4 i dont want to go to into the engine, so anything around 270 is fine, after all its the kiddy transporter and part time toy, i have the up pipe to sort out first and have no idea about that hope that helps regain some minor hp.
