Sigma m30 problem
Does this alarm activate when the battery is on its way out? The reason I ask is because mine has started to sound but not at full volume & normally about 3am every time I leave it set.
The car doesn't get used much so the battery wont be at its best, is this the cause or could it be a fault on the alarm itself? Cheers Chris. |
could be both. charge the battery and see if that stops the problem.

Will do tomorrow, the siren has its own battery could this be at fault?
|
Newage Scoobs use a 'smart' [stupid] alternator which detects current draw and only charges if it decides it needs to. Through the summer when lights and demisters etc don't see much use the battery can be drained. Come winter we suddnly put a lot of load on it and bang, bye-bye battery. The M30 does detect low battery power and warn you. Get a new one, but from now on make sure you leave your sidelights on or fan on '1' (or both) to trick the alt into charging all the time.

Its a P1 so the alt will be the old type. Might just get an optima to be on the safe side :D

Then ignore me :D

unlikely. the battery in the siren is only used to power the siren when the power is cut (when the system is armed). other than that it doesn't do much |
o.k, thanks peeps. Ive ordered an optima now so if this doesnt work im on the market for a new alarm sys, any recommendations?
|
You can use your M30 to tell you the voltage in your battery ?
If you like I'll look in my manual later at home and let you know, its easy to do and the keypad has all sorts of features. |

Got the optima yesterday but haven't fitted it yet, got an issue with my power steering I need to sort first.
