Project car updated again
Spent another day with Gareth and the guys today.
Gareth was pretty busy so we didn't get much done, but we ticked off some of the jobs we needed to :thumb: The chrome on the windows has been blacked out http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...r/IMG_1958.jpg The lights back in http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...r/IMG_1983.jpg The internal wiring taped up http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...r/IMG_1974.jpg The ignition plastics swapped for the ones from the donnor car. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...r/IMG_1948.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...r/IMG_1949.jpg Cruise removed http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...r/IMG_1947.jpg Next up we had a look at the bumpers. I am amazed at how much they weighed. Closer inspection revealed and outer and inner bumper. The decision was taken to try to remove the inner. This was achieved. You can see the heavy inner in the foreground http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...r/IMG_1953.jpg That complete we set about cutting the part of the inner we needed to retain out http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...r/IMG_1965.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...r/IMG_1964.jpg I would suggest this saved us at the very least 6KG's. It also gave the others the chance to watch and laugh while I worked up a sweat. Yes GAW GUS George is eating a Kebab   http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...r/IMG_1966.jpg When we trial fitted the front bumper we weren't sure about the look. We decided to take out the bumper strips to remain black. The rest will be painted Orange :thumb: The cold air feed was trial fitted. I like the look alot http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...r/IMG_1996.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...r/IMG_2000.jpg The next steps are Get a guy to touch up the interior paint and cover the areas missed during the main paint job. Fit the driver window slider Fit the 5th Bonnet pin Fit rear door locks. Sort the wiring and fit the dash Seats etc etc Comedy moment of the day. Jimmy was having his alignment checked. I said he needed that doing for ages   Gareth pain stakingly set the equipment. He asked Jimmy to do something telling Jimmy to be careful of the equipment as he passed it. ''yeah yeah'' came the reply. What could only be 5 seconds later Jimmy kicked the lot over   It made my day as it defelcted to Bollocking I got all day for a while http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...r/IMG_1993.jpg Another great day guys :thumb: |
