Hardrace Anti lift kit . any good?
Can anyone give me some feedback on the Hardrace anti lift arms I have supplied a few of you guys ,
Obviously , they are cheaper than whiteline and don't come with new bolts . Has anyone found any problems with these? Do they do just as good a job as other brands? The reason I am asking is because I haven't had a chance to test these on mine and I maybe bringing a large quantity in... everytime I have offered them on here or ebay they have sold like hot cakes and I haven't had any bad feedback about them , Any comments would be great , Cheers chris |
I think i would take it as 'no news is good news'?

:lol1:
Looks that way ,, I know a few guys on here had some .. 911 : Do you know what size bolts are used ? Maybe I can supply them with the bolts/washers in the future? Cheers chris |
The 'ALK' bolts are huge, iirc they are 12mm x 1.5mm pitch but could be 14mm and are very long. (about 70mm)
I do not have one 'out ' of my car, so you will need to unscrew one of yours. The fine metric pitch is a bit awkward for a UK supplier. Mine have never had washers. Once you have the sizes, I'm sure a specialist such as Namrick will source some for you. |
Cheers fellor!

Just checked out your price on the website for these, Bloody hell these are a bargain.
Just need to wait till payday now  |
Be able to do them cheaper than that when i get more stock :) :thumb:

Had them fitted to my car and the garage advised they do not increase the castor as much as the whiteline stuff.
Just increase it very marginally over the standard ones but at the price you cant go wrong! Banny |

I had lots of other work done at the same time, including adjustable top mounts so I am not really sure how much of and effect they are having but yes they are still fitted.

I think youll find that they arent an anti lift kit. In order to work effectively the lift kit must drop the bush down so placing a slight angle on the lower arm. Its this movement of the arm thats gives the anti lift tendencies.
The Hardrace parts are straight repalcements for the original bushes and do no more than slightly reduce arm movement as they run a stiffer bush than the original. If you look at a true anti lift kit (like the Whiteline) youll find that they lower the bush and so the arm pivot point. We are the official UK distributers for Hardrace btw :) |
That is exactly what Andy said to me but I just could not remember it lol

Bren ~ Cheers for the info . The reason I asked about these is because of the price and if they did do the same job as other brands , what a bargin they are .... When I first got a batch I did auctually ask hardrace if they are "anti lift" and they didn't quite know what I meant , so I sent them some whiteline pics and they said yes they are the same , so i took it in good faith that they were ,.. Looks like I will be crossing these off my list now as I also had problems with there rad / coolant pipes not fitting correctly .

If you compare them to the Whiteline you can see how the design differs. Hardrace do react well to the market though so a specific request to do an anti lift kit should result in the correct product in the near future :) Ive already sent them a request.
What was wrong with the coolent pipes? We havent come accross any issues with them to date. |

What was wrong with the coolent pipes? We havent come accross any issues with them to date. I had two sets on my02 and the top Hose rubs on alternator pulley . Had to cut about a inch of them, to make them fit with enough clearance - Changed to samco in the end Chris |
It was a length issue rather than a shape issue?
Out of interest was it Hardrace themselves you dealt with or a distributer? Im interested to see if Hardrace themselves are giving out incorrect info as Ive dealt with them for years now and they have been pretty much spot on. |
Yes length .
Yes these were from a distributer but I got the info the same from both... I will see if I can find it on some old emails and pm you , chris |
Fitted mine a while back and they went on okay, but as has been said the amount of castor increase was negligible. When sat along side the standard ones they looked no different so I suspect that are not much more than uprated bushes.
Personally, I'm upgrading to whiteline ones in the new year along with the rear drop links and some other bits. I've already changed the front drop links as the hardrace ones will only fit cars with steel lower arms. |
