OVERHEATING!!

Hi, I am new to this site but hope the masses can help mewith this one.

Ok, I have a wagon WRX which was specced up to STI stand. by "Japanese Performance " magazine under the guise of "Project WRX". GEMS ecu mapped by Steve Simpson.
The car was sold to me with information that radiator was leaking and needed top up now and then, which was the case.
BUT, recently it seems to be "Evaporating" the water very quickly and has several times gone into the upper regions of temp gauge in car. i have then had to park up, wait for it to cool, then top up with water!!
I had used Premium coolant but this also leaked/got diluted over time, so now using water only.
Contacted "PROSPORT" who said it could be "Headgasket" aswell as new radiator needed.

Can anyone help me with this dilemma, is it costly? & would engine transplant be a more cost effective option??

Many thanks.

if it was me i would fit a new radiator straight away(not that exspensive)obviously then refill 50/50 or is it 60/40 antifreeze/water and see how it is then but defanutly get a new rad on asap because you are going to need a new one whatever happens.

Thanks.
Do you know how "Detonation" presents when driving car under boost.
Mine has kind of stopped tempo. @ 4-5rpm then when let revs down and applied boost again it has worked fine...past 4-5rpm aswell, with good pull all the way!
Have you heard of Prosport? Do you recomm.?

to be honest if its overheating i would be driving like a nun on the convents day outing mate, prosport are recommended and there is Welcome Page in fleetwood also very good but labour charges are less than prosport.
