I've recently bought a P1 and am thinking about bigger brakes already! I was just wondering what sort of price I'll be looking at? Also if someone out there has done it, how much would I get for the brakes that come off considering they've done 3000 miles from new?

Just trying to weigh up my options :D

Thanks in Advance

Mike

Mike,
My MY00 has the same brakes (I think) and I'm looking at upgrades as well. How much are you thinking of spending? Are you looking at discs and pads or complete set up? How about your warranty?

After looking into it I'm thinking of going for Godspeed discs (separate bells and discs like AP stuff - supposed to be un-warpable) but keeping the std calipers + putting Mintex 1155 pads in.

I'm waiting for a mail from Godspeed on prices tho so I can't help you there.

I've got the Alcon/Prodrive Upgrade on my P1 and they are a great improvememt over the demonstrator that I drove which had the standard brakes on it. Well bedded in now and they are great, quite expensive though at c£1500 + VAT.

I know people with P1's who have gone down the Alcon & Godspeed route as well and are equally happy though.

I thought I only had the one option on the brake upgrade. I think the first thing to do is find out from my dealer what is ok for the warranty and go from there.

We'll talk about brakes when we meet Rich.

Thanks all

(ade7624:- You'll be the first on the list if I go through with this :))

Mickle.....I'll tell you now that your dealer will try to push you down the Prodrive/Alco upgrade and state that anything else will void the warranty if ever there were a brake issue....
I have AP 6 pots on my P1 and they will stop on a sixpence (As my late Granny used to say ;))

Just spoken to the dealer and guess what....

The prodrive option is the only one blarr blarrr blarrrrrrrrrr!

:)

How much if you don't mind me asking did you pay for your AP 6-pots, also do you just change the fronts?
