How can I check vehicle age online with a MANX number plate
 

Hi guys as above. I just need to know the age of a car which apparently is not evident from the number plate itself.

Any help will be great

DVLA have a website which has a vehicle check section.
This shows the year, colour and when the tax is due

Not 100% if it's just for mainland car regs though?

you should be able to get the year of manufacture from the VIN - try entering it here..

hi albob, thanks for the link matey. The problem is this car is in an impound as it is a salvage car likewise I only have the number plate to it. I wanted to do a check to make sure of what year the car is so I can put my maximum bid in ;)

So far I have come across vin checks but no number plate checks.

Btw do you think attempting an online insurance quote could get me the year of the car or even if i ask one of our good old friends Gary Moulson and Lucko

If you can get in to the car , The year it was made will be stamped on the seat belt,

Where abouts on the seat belt Alan? I want to check mine.

Alan the car is in a salvage yard a fair distance from me likewise have no access to the car nor vin number
