All engines have thrust bearings. On scoobies they will either be center or end thrust. On your early car it should be centre thrust. The thrust bearing will come as part of the main bearing set, you will have to stipulate the position of the thrust on your engine.

I can direct you to a very cheap supplier of ACL Race Series bearings in the US. I have personally bought two complete rod and main bearing sets off him now.

Cost me £66 inc delivery for ACL Race Series Main bearings and Rod bearings. Drop me a PM if you want contact details for my suppler :norty:

If you got these bearings from the UK you would be looking in excess of £150

...why not replace with a new 2.5L short block? Gives you a better choice of turbos if you want to up the power without sacrificing driveability.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread but how much can the 2.5 Litre short block be bought for then?

Seems everyone always states this is the way to go if a rebuild is in order so just wondered about the cost?

£1500 for an open deck from flat4online. Can do better if you buy direct from US.
