Not sure if this is the right place to ask, however, here goes!! I know that many of the Scoobnet Tribe regularly meet up wherever they may be in the country, but has anything more ambitious ever been organised?

I am sat here flicking through Classic & Sports Car magazine and it details a 2000 mile run around Britain in 48hrs. Various checkpoints etc and all in the name of Charity.

I thought that this could be quite a laugh if organised..

So:

1) Would anyone be interested?
2) Would it be too expensive (Probably about £600 of fuel required...depending how you drive)
3) Has it been suggested before and I am a barking up a difficult tree?

I am sure that we could, if we tried, get some corporate sponsorship, given half of us work for large IT firms. And I would hope that Subaru or Prodrive or others would wish to be associated with such an event.

Anyway, some thoughts really, I would be happy to do my bit and try and get something together. (Having not done anything like this before, am I being a bit optimistic??)

So any thoughts anyone?

I think it's a nice idea, it would take serious organisation though to co-ordinate everyone to get the same 48hrs off...and no doubt another 48hrs to recover....

The other problem is that with circa £600 of fuel costs you'd have to raise serious sponsorship money and it just wouldn't be cost effective!! (unless you could get Esso to sponsor http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif and that fat idiot in westminster!

Scoobyaid would probably be the forum for this, It's probably not the best time of year either as everyone is all spent out for christmas...easter would probably be better!!

just my 2p
