OK, I'm new at this (phnar...phnar)

The images appear because they are hyperlinks to images hosted on webservers. If you mean that you have the pictures on your hard disk, then you will need to upload them somewhere and then link to them. Right click on a smilie and you'll see what I mean.

Nick Young 09 January 2002 01:14 PM

I have yet to master the smiley faces!

Scumbag 09 January 2002 01:23 PM

David
Thanks for the reply.....
I must admit I assumed that inserting a .gif would be equivalent to posting a picture within the text (dont know how to do that either - D'Oh), but I really do have some crackers that wont be on many webservers
I understand why the smilie shortcuts need to be on the webserver - to save having to post the .gif as part of the message.

Or am I just talking cr@p, and you can only post certain files (eg jpegs)

Cheers

:) :p

SHESCOOBY 09 January 2002 03:15 PM

Wayhey they certainly did (H)

DavidRB 09 January 2002 03:38 PM

Cool :)

Scumbag, no, you're not talking crap. ;) The smilies aren't uploaded as such, they're part of the UBB software that Scoobynet runs on.

None of the pictures you see in messages on here are uploaded to Scoobynet, they must exist on another web server somewhere and all you do is fill in a link to them, e.g. . You can link to gifs, jpgs or pngs. Hell, you can link to anything, but the results might be somewhat variable! ;)
