Track Day Wheels/Tryes advice needed

Hi,

Not wishing to Trash my road use wheels and tyre combination, i was wondering what type of wheels would best suit some slick/wet use track tyres.
I have seen quite a few second hand tyre combinations but i am unsure on the sizes since they appear to be different to normal road use sizes.

My car is WRX MY54, anya dvice on rim & Tyre sizes would be a great help.

Cheers :notworthy

Get a set of standard STI wheels/tyres mate (Bridgestone RE070)

Awesome on track :thumb:

My approach to track day tyres is slightly different
I try to go on regular basis and will also do airfield day where the track tend to eat the tyres.
I always have a second set of wheels for the track and use
or my old tyres
or just go to tyre shop and get from them some old used tyres for free.

And thats good enough for me to enjoy myself. I feel much better destroying a set of £0 tyres compare to £400.

If you care about lap times then slicks or track tyres will make a massive difference (look at last evo tyre test how much difference between normal tyres). If this is the route you want to take, you should call rally or racing specialist shops and search for a set of used slicks/road rally cuts. BTW I believe Clio cup slicks should fit impreza 17 wheels (I have yet to try)
