Can't install drivers!!
Hiya,
I'm trying to sort my mates laptop out - it's absolutely w@nkered!!!! Ran antivirus and picked up several trojans and now setting about trying to get the CD drive working. On the device manager its saying the driver may be corrupted or missing - but when I try to install it it's telling me I don't have administrator right to process or No device is recognised!! I've tried installing it again automatically by plug and play and it's just not happening. What else can I do? Also, there is a multimedia audio controller which I am assuming is the sound card. That won't plug and play either and I don't know what make/model it is to download the drivers and give that a bash. How can I find this out? Cheers guys, Claire:) |
Have you visited the manufacturers website and input the model details of the laptop?
What make, model and OS is it running? |
If you haven;t, try SP2 assuming its Winxp, sp2 contains a lot of drivers..
You may need to run a removel tool to kill the CD rom drivers... lets see you OS and go from there.... |
Sorted by Markus :D :D
