22 year old guy having sex with 16 year old girl

Long time reader, first time poster.

I found this in a fitness forum.

A guy, 22, wants to have sex with a girl who's 16. I'm the dad of a 1 year old daughter. I am worried about her enough as it is, but I cant think of how much I'd worry about this if this was my daughter. I'm angry about this guy doing this, am I right to be angry? What would you do if your daughter was in this situation?

(to make things equal, you can read the 22 year old guys side on his blog, Having Sex With A 16-Year-Old | Becoming A Pick-Up Artist)

DocJock 16 September 2007 08:31 AM

If your daughter can't look out for herself by 16yrs old then you've not done a very good job of bringing her up.

There have always been idiots around, you need to help them work out how to spot them.

NotoriousREV 16 September 2007 08:32 AM

The guy is clearly one of the most inadequate men walking the earth. FFS, he won't even buy aftershave, he gets a free spray of it.

If you bring your daughter up with a healthy dose of self-respect and self-esteem, she'd spot a loser like him, and many others, a mile off.

andy97 16 September 2007 08:35 AM

she's 16, legally allowed to have sex with anyone, even me and Im very old. 22 is hardly a great age difference.

davegtt 16 September 2007 09:04 AM

I wouldnt touch a 16yr old. Morals are something everyone should have IMO.

Jaybird-UK 16 September 2007 09:29 AM

I find his post quite predatory and disturbing.

Would he back off if they said 15?

MrRee007 16 September 2007 10:49 AM

22 - 16

That is at the very limit of decency .... quite what, apart from the obvious, would a 22 year old find in common with a 16 year old??

21 - 15 would be considered out of order and illegal ...... he 'could' be nearly 23 and she 'just' turned 15

Nah, I had NO INTEREST whatsoever in girls of 16 when I was 22!

MJW 16 September 2007 02:37 PM

This is probably more common and less morally outrageous than most people think. I have two girls myself, one of them is 16. She says that boys around her own age are too immature for her - don't forget girls develop at a more advanced rate than boys at this age. She has been out with older boys (though not as old as 22) and although the thought of *anyone* sleeping with her makes my blood boil and has me reaching for the .410, she has to make her own decisions now. I can provide advice and recommend against certain courses of action, but the final decision rests with her.

When I was 18 I wouldnt touch 16 year olds even if I wanted to. I would just be their friends till they reached 18 :D

Why men who chase after younger women are only obeying natural selection.

Why men who chase after younger women are just obeying natural selection - Times Online

"Men are most reproductively successful with a partner who is six years younger than they are, while women have most children if they choose a father who is four years older, a study in Austria has shown."

So it's not surprising that a 22 year old man should want to have sex with a 16 year old girl. It's entirely natural not to say desirable.

Are you some sort of pervert? So are you saying that when you were 16 you wanted to sleep with a 10 year old :freak3: :nono:

Leslie 16 September 2007 03:13 PM

No its not-more like he is prepared to go for the easy option!

Les :(

MrRee007 16 September 2007 03:48 PM

Indeed, Les - the 22 year old male clearly has difficulties getting women interested in him from his own age group ...... I bet he impressed her with his CockLink Lights at MacDonalds one Friday night! :lol1:

i'm 25, and my girlfriend is 19. she was 16 and i was 22 when we started going out. she's now 32 weeks preggers and we expecting our first. so i dont see any wrong in a guy of 22 going for a girl of 16, as long as she is happy. :thumb:

CharlesW 16 September 2007 03:56 PM

I am only quoting a piece of research that has found that sexually active men prefer a mate who is 6 years younger than themselves, as this results in the most children, and a women prefer a mate who is 4 years older than them.

It's not rocket science. Look around you.

Obviously when I was 16 I didn't want sex with a 10 year old. I wanted sex with someone my own age, but as many of you found out at that age, 16 year old girls didn't want sex with a spotty 16 year old boy. They wanted a man who could look after them; a man who who knew a bit about the ways of the world; a man who had a bit of money to take them out; buy them things. A man who was almost certainly some years older than themselves.

Nowadays if what I've heard from the teaching profession is true, 16 year old boys have sex with any girl younger than them, who is willing. One or other of them will film it on their mobile and post it on Bebo.

The point of view of the father of a 16 year old girl is going to be different. No-one is good enough for their girl. But you will have some job stopping them from doing what they want and not completely alienate them. You just have to hope that you have instilled in them enough common sense and morality, that if they do have sex, it is with someone who cares for them, and that they are doing for the right reason.

I am deeply disturbed by reading that. Not so much that he was considering it - who wouldnt! More the fact that she was offering it on a plate to him. Even then he was resisting it. She was pushing him!

Are you going to be supporting your family or will us taxpayers be propping you up?

VoteConservative! 16 September 2007 04:19 PM

You have to be pretty sad to be going out with a 16 year old. She will probably have to be in at 11PM and will want a happy meal with some white lightning instead of going to a nice restaurant and then to a nice bar.

matchmaker 16 September 2007 04:30 PM

I got engaged at 26, my girlfriend was 17.

We celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary next year. :):)

just out of interest whats different

OllyK 16 September 2007 04:51 PM

And yet if a 16/17 year old lad nailed a women in her 30's, everybody would be giving it "go on my son". I don't know the people involved and I think that is more important than the age difference to be honest.

stringostar 16 September 2007 04:53 PM

less promiscous. No sex before marriage/major commitment days. Back when the society as a whole still had strong family values and a code or morals. We dont have that anymore :(

spireite 16 September 2007 05:44 PM

Good man. In hindsight it was rather a cheeky remark from me. :thumb:

Report him to the walking bacon!

Should teach him a lesson!

sti-04!! 16 September 2007 05:53 PM

Its not right.

fatherpierre 16 September 2007 05:56 PM

Depends if she's fit or not :norty:

It's legal, and as long as consent's there................

It does seem wrong though. That age gap is the same with me and my Mrs, but she was 20 when I met her.

Sonic' 16 September 2007 06:03 PM

My friend met his G/F when she was 15 going on 16, he was IIRC 21/22 at the time

They are completly inseperable, been happily married for the last 10 years and have a child too, so that makes it about 15-16 years that they have been together
