My monthly wash 'n' wax

It was time for my Impreza monthly wash and wax. I started off by loosening the Mcgard black lugs, then I jacked the car up and placing on axel stands under the car. What a job with a '-50mm lowered' car :Whatever_ I got there in the end.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...Sport/car3.jpg

A jiffy later I took the all the alloys off the car and put them out of the way on the soft grass. I then set about cleaning the arches as they looked a little grubby.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...Sport/car7.jpg

I applied PS21 Total auto wash neat and left to work its magic for a few minutes, then I got out a medium soft brush to scrub the arches and remove the dirt, I then got the megs MF wash mitt to wash and clean the arches. Then hoesed off and then dried using megs water magnet.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...port/car15.jpg

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...port/car16.jpg

I then got workingon the alloys. As you can see the pair of alloys that where on the front are rather 'dusty'.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...port/car10.jpg

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...port/car11.jpg

The rears dn't get as dusty as I still have rear drums...but not for much longer ;)

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...Sport/car9.jpg

and the lugs

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...Sport/car8.jpg

With these I cleaned them with PB super slick and suds (PBSSS) and a megs lambswool wash mitt and megs 3 end brush. Then dryed with the megs water magent.

Then I applied Poorboys wheel sealant to the alloys and left for a good 10-15 minutes. I also applied wheel sealant to the lugs as well ;)

This shot shows a 50/50 shot with the wheel sealant on the right and on the left I have wiped it off.

heres a mug shot of me wiping off the exces sealant

Then It was back to the car and onto foaming the car.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...port/car21.jpg

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...port/car22.jpg

I left this to work its magic for 5 mins. Then hosed off and soaked the car. Then I washed the car using the two bucked method and for shampoo I used PBSSS and a fresh lambswool wash mitt.
Also nbot forgetting the door shuts etc.
I dried using two souns der wunder drying towels. I love these. Well worth the money.

Then I got onto polishing and I used for this step Auto Glym Super Resin Polish (AGSRP) applied with a MF cloth and then wiped off with a plush MF cloth.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...port/car24.jpg

This I left on for about 10 mins and then wiped off. I then applied the wax...my favorite part for obvious reasons - poorboys nattys paste wax - hmmm - tasty :D Left this on for about 10 ish mins and then buffed off with another plush MF cloth.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...port/car26.jpg

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...port/car25.jpg

Then onto the interior, which actually was clean.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...port/car27.jpg

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...port/car28.jpg

I hooved and dusted the car. For the dash I has just got Thanks to PB, some PB natural look dressing which I applied with an MF applicator pad.

The dash parts don't look the same old dull self, but loverly and restoried.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...port/car30.jpg

Then I did the windows with AG Glass polish and applied like a polish with a Megs applicator pad and left on for about 5 mins inside and out. Then buffed off.

Then I put the alloys back on and lowered the car back to ground level.

PB: Email sent ;)

Cheers all. I have one philsophy (sp?) in life, if you look after something (Impreza) She'll look after you.

Rich @ PB 21 September 2007 08:10 PM

I have a similar philosophy. If you're going to do something, do it right, and do it well. Otherwise don't bother. :)

SC008Y_MAD 22 September 2007 08:46 PM

I could not of put it better myself.
