Heskey to play for England
Bloody Hell - things MUST be tough :(
He was sh1t 5 years ago!! FFS!!! |
Even in his current form I'd rather see him play than Defoe:freak3:
|
I saw this on the news last night. WTF are they thinking :cuckoo: Sounds like its Owens influence that has made the decision
|
I'm wearing a black armband and my trousers at half mast. :(
|
Watched him on Saturday and he was sh1t, just running about being a dirty b@stard because of his size!
|
Never rated the guy, hess toss:rolleyes:
|
shows how bad english players are when he's the best we can do.

Something tells me McLaren is looking to get sacked by making this move, he must know its not going to be a popular decision. |
 I cant believe it, how bad has the English game become :(
|
Surely theres players in the B team that could step up a level and do a better job than heskey. :(
|
5 goals in 43 appearances I think Mullery said, Mullers is going mad over Emil in the squad.
|
Yeah but he makes Owen look good:lol1: :lol1:
|
Emile Heskey is total pants! What is going on?
He's such a big lad but falls over at the slightest touch. What was the joke: Somebody was watching an England match and got up to go to the toilet. As they walked past the telly they bumped into it with their hip...........................................and Emile Heskey fell over. |
2000–01 season Heskey scored 23 goals for Liverpool
now you can't take that away from him. but i agree it is a very odd choice |

Look - McLaren turned round Boro from being a **** team to being a **** team still in the premier league.
He'll turn round Engerland. And least they wont be overpaid useless tossers - just useless tossers. McLaren's lost the plot - he'll be getting Glen Hoddle in as his deputy next :freak3: |
Christ almighty, who next? John Bloody Barnes getting called up?

And as for Heskey, I think he played 14 internationals alongside Owen and Owen scored 12 times. Not all bad. |

Barnes or Gareth Barry? I'd take Barnes. :thumb:

Played well I think.
|
Yep, good performance from Heskey, solid team performance overall.

He's played ok in two matches. One against the mighty Israel and the other against a slightly better Russia. He plays alongside Owen as a "Striker". He's "struck" the ball a few times (normally missing the target) and has played the way he always has; lots of effort and nobody can fault him for that. He's still crap but his determination and that of others given a chance has brought two good results against two mediocre teams. Bring on some more challenging opposition and then see how good he is/we are. Let's not get carried away yet. |

The problem we now have is dicks on the BBC are talking about Heskey keeping Rooney out of the team. And McLaren will probably think the same :freak3: . Still - 2 wins will do for now :) |
and gareth barry who was one of the best players on the park in both games alongside stevie G but someone earlier would rather had john barnes playing lol but a bit of competition is good, stops people getting complacent
|
times newspaper rated heskey to be a better player than rooney. so pecking order is owen, heskey, crouch then rooney. seems fair to me.
|
There is only 1 reason Heskey is playing and thats to win the ball in the air and flick it on/knock down to Owen. I can't stand the bloke but there is no doubting Owen gets goals when Heskey plays. Heskey couldn't hit a barn door let alone the goal but if he can win the ball in the air better than any other player and that results in Owen getting the ball in front of goal then so be it. Its no bloody good having Owen and Rooney up front if there is nobody supplying the ball to them :freak3:
Don't for one moment think I like Heskey or Mclaren as I don't, BUT its the first tactic Mclaren has got right since taking over and its got us two very good wins when we desperately needed them. |
I always thought Heskey was a wise choice :lol1:
I hate him, and still think he is crap, but - as a foil for Owen? Well he does that well .... |
Rooney is too ball greedy...thinks he is the be all and end all i think heskey complimenting owen is the best thing thats happened to England in a good few years. There are so many working partnerships in the side now it would be daft to change things now eg heskey-owen,gerrard-barry,the two coles, richards and wright-phillips i think McLaren has stumbled across probably the best team we have to offer in terms of working partnerships
Long may it continue, lets hope he doesnt pick players on the size of their name |

the two coles
Joe Cole has hardly been consistent for a while now but his flashes of brilliance has kept him in the team just about but Ashley Cole has been shocking of recent times. Hardly the player he was at Arsenal |
