Collected my new STI Version 3 Type RA today!
I had a 97 Version 3 WRX which I sold and bought this 96 V 3 STI Type RA. I've been looking for 5 months and finally came across this one. Its completely standard and was previously owned by a responsible 48 year old. I had a seven hour drive back today, needless to say I smiled all the way back! The only problem was a bit of a humming sound from the engine under boost which I suspect to be coming from the boost solenoid, I'm going to give it a good clean tom.... and hopefully that will sort it out, if not it will be into a garage first thing Mon. morning. There's some sort of HKS part near the solenoid, which I suspect could be from a boost controller. (not sure)
Here's a pic of my V 3 WRX: http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/6095/dsc04476tk0.jpg And here's my RA: http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/9928/dsc06906og6.jpg http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/8122/dsc06908cl7.jpg http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/100/dsc06914nt1.jpg http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4118/dsc06915lu3.jpg http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/5269/dsc06916kq7.jpg http://img478.imageshack.us/img478/3466/dsc06920uv3.jpg http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/4863/dsc06928sj5.jpg http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/5930/dsc06938jj2.jpg http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/6773/dsc06919ed6.jpg |
Looks immaculate from those photos mate, not sure on what the HKS thingy is myself but what a nice example of an RA that looks like! Nice plate too ;)
|
Cheers mate, I'm really happy with it! Just needs a nice set of rims now.
|
You got anything particular in mind?
|
nice mate. keep smiling.:) :) :) :)

Ha ha... thanks!
I'd love another set of Speedline's like on my WRX (Type 2014SC's / RB5 rims) or Rays Engineering Volk TE37C http://images.trademe.co.nz/photoser...13709_full.jpg Or these Speedline's http://images.trademe.co.nz/photoser...80936_full.jpg More Rays http://images.trademe.co.nz/photoser...94257_full.jpg Or OZ's. To tell you the truth, I don't really know until I've seen them on the car. Defiantly Rays, Speedline's or OZ's. |

Sweet man. Is that lowered on anything?
Oh, Speedline FTMFW. :D |
Cheers mate, as far as I know its completely standard and the springs look like stock STI springs. I think RA's are a little lower than other STI's.
