Thanx 4 the replies.
By the way Mr Cookie, that looks the b0llox you flash bastid http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/cool.gif I just had another thought. Has anyone fitted a gauge to monitor the charge temperature after the intercooler, probably be more useful than a voltmeter (unless i had a phat system in the boot, geezah! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif) |
Its not the same thing so its a bit unfair to compare the price!

May be of interest...I made a three gauge pod from the housing which is for the optional Impreza electronic display.
This is designed to fit where the oddments box goes. The material matches the whole dashpanel so looks OE. The aperture is rectangular a panel was made up to take three 52mm gauges. I will get a photo uploaded soon or e-mail to you if it is any help. The panel is £56 plus the gauges. Wiring is straight forward - the voltmeter to any 12V connection which is on with the ignition (ideally connections to the the main ignition line which is switched to the battery. The oil gauge needs a T-connector which screws into the block in place of the oil light switch. The switch then screws into the T-piece, the gauge pipe screws into the spare tapping. Run the pipe carefully into the cabin keep away from sharp objects and the exhaust ! |
I was looking back through the gallery pics and found the piccy inside Stefs scoob. Needless to say, it gave me wood!
Do anyone know if the pod is still available from any Subaru dealers? I also wondered where and how to tap in the oil gauges and a volt meter? Any help will be most welcome, cheers. Steve. |
The gauge pod is the same part as the pod used for the Nav pod available from dealers. Can't remember the part number though

I've had 52mm Autometer Phantom oil temp, oil pressure & boost guages fitted to my P1 using the original Subaru pod. Lavender Hill Garage, Enfield, fitted them and I know it wasn't an easy job, but they still did an excellent job of mounting the guages in the pod thanks to good engineering skills.
David M, thanks again. |

I would be a flash B'stard if it where mine http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif Si (but im normally just a muppet http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif) Ps Kris i thought the same too |
Scoobymania are in the throes of finalising a pod that will take 3 52mm pods just by cutting holes in the thing of appropriate size.
I saw the prototype a couple of weeks back and, despite being purple http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif, it looked good. Mike claimed to have received the first production model on Friday just gone, so hopefully these things should be shipping soon. Give him a bell, and tell him I sent you. He'll really, *really* thank me for someone else giving him hassle about them http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif. His gauges are currently held in by gaffer tape, as are mine. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif After successfully fitting the new pod & gauges, I have 2 issues to discuss in conjunction with my manufacturer, I will be visiting him first thing Monday morning to resolve them. (Both minor issues). Production will commence as soon as the 2 issues are integrated into the production mould. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif Mike. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif |
