What Boost Gauge?

I have a chip ready to go into my car but I don't have a boost gauge and I'm not sure what is a good make gauge to buy or where's best to buy one?

I have around £30 to spend on the gauge itself, I do quite like the look off the white luminescent gauges but then again I like the look of the stealth type gauges that can't be seen when the engine is off.

I have seen quite a few on ebay

Anybody got any suggestions please?

Thanks :thumb:

I got one of the smoked ones from ebay (powertek) sounds like the ones you like as its dark until I turn the electrics on. very cheap about £40 inc delivery for gauge and manual boost valve.
The service is the best service I have ever had from anybody. A chap called Ian Burns is the man to speak to and is email addy is powertek@btinternet.com

Are the boost gauges you have got mechanical or electrical?

I understand mechanical is better????

Anybody shed any light on this?

electrical gauge supposed to be better but apparently it doesn't really matter for boost but i was recommended to go for electrical for oil temp/pressure so went for electrical boost to.

I have TRUST gauges... recalls peak, gives warning light and some other thing without the need of the control box.

sorry bud missed out on the £30 bit :(
Yeah Defi's are a tad over priced, even second hand ones

LOL @ 'Defis a tad over priced'...just a bit!

I've also got a set of three Prosport gauges, including electrical boost. For the money, you just can't say no. I'm all for quality when it's necessary and for many years I swore by Autometer. But the fact is the Prosport ones work, no better and no worse than any others and they have all the functions that seem to make Defis worth spending hundreds of pounds on. Get a Prosport electrical boost and you can't go wrong. Electrical isn't really needed with a boost gauge unless you want the peak hold/warning/memory functions etc. With liquid temps and pressures you always want go for electrical.
