I think personally its nice to see the disks all bright and shiny
but mine are looking shi77y mainly the rears.

Anyone tried anything to get them back to that nice shiny look.

Before anyone says "Dont wax them" I know this bit, im not completely stupid DDDEEERRRRRR.

If you mean all the components except the disk face then I use a tyre/wheel foam and spray it everywhere. It coats all the brake and suspension components and doesn't affect braking performance if it oversprays onto the disk face.

....and if you mean the disk face you're in for a struggle. Being cast iron, they corrode quicker than a quick thing. How often do you use your car? Mine don't get a chance to get rusty.

I sprayed the hub part of the rear discs with grey exhaust manifold paint after wire brushing the rust off.You need to use high temp paint as the rear discs get very hot.

I also painted the rear calipers black at the same time and the finished result looked v cool.The paint lasted about a year before the rust started to show again.

I do mean the disk face, the front ones stay nice and shiny but the backs are going grey & shi55y, I only use it at the weekends so this maybe the reason, but it is garaged.

An easy way to sort this out is to drive the car more ;) Sorry don't mean to take the pee. Or you could get harder pads front and rear. I put DS2000's all round and they cleaned up my rear disks nicely.
