visual difference - WRX sub vs STI sub?

How can one tell the difference between an STi sub-assembly and a WRX sub-assembly?

I am going to have a look at what the seller claims is a STi sub-assembly (probably from a 2002 model). I want to make sure that it is indeed from STi and not WRX.

crankshafts

From previous posts, he/she wants to know is there visually any way to determine the difference ( if any) between these Crankshafts.

LOL.. yeah.. sorry mate. Regional language barrier.

I mean the crankshaft, conrods and pistons. We refer to that whole bit as the sub-assembly. So i think you guys call it the full bottom end?

A little bit more research brings up some info on the water ports.. apparently there are differences on the casings and the sleeves etc. but the info is still a bit fuzzy...

**sigh**

more searching..
