And all he got was a warning......... What was he doing with such a knife??? peeling vegetables???
And we ask why crime is so high.

Sorry 6. Months Borstal was more fitting.
The last time the Goverment took notice of the "Peoples feelings" was after the Poll tax riots. We need a major public demonstration across Britain to demand changes to crime and yob culture.

I agree

But then I have a Swiss Army Lock knife which is attached to my key ring

Think so.... Also blade length is important. i believe under 3 inches is ok.

But a knife that does not lock is bloodt dangerous!!! .I have a "Normark Super swede". It locks and is on a landyard. If I am climbing etc I always carry it. Heard of a carpet fitter been arrested for having his knife with him in his tool belt on the way to a cafe.... Something about not been near the place of work..

Only muppetts & cowards carry knives.

If you carry a knife then its a status thing, look how much of a matcho man / girl I am, look at that old person over there I can frighten them with this blah blah
Any blade no matter how long or screw driver come to think can kill someone, look what happened to the poor sod Kevin Jackson a couple of days back.

I you carry a knife then you must be prepard to use it.

swiss army knives are more like a tool kit than a dangerous weapon, but you can still do damage with one.

If some one pulls a knife on me & I'm with the wife or kids then they get what ever they ask for, but like an elephant I dont forget & will one day find them, if I'm on my own then its a different matter, they have just flushed them selves in to a pit of sh1te, firstly I carry something that will stop them, not a knife or a gun & secondly I would not show any compassion, thirdly I was told when I was younger, if you are going to take a kicking or worse make sure you take at least one of them with you, at least that way PC plod has something to work with 2 dead bodies is better than 1 victim.

Harsh over the top, I dont think so, when this county grows up & smells the sh1te we are in then maybe some of the old duffers who make the rules & are there to inforce them will actualy do something about it until then its just down down down do....

astraboy 05 January 2002 01:08 PM

easy to say mate, but I aint the biggest built bloke in the world and I would have to rely on the element of surprise and speed of attack in the situation above.
however, if I was cornered and had a weapon, one situation that my mate tried and got away with was saying "right, I know that i cant have you all, but the first person to come near me gets this (screwdriver) in the chest. who's going to be first?" Not surprisingly there were few takers.

If you are going to carry something for protection get some CS gas
It wont kill them it willgive you time to leg it, plus you can spray it about should be enough to stop a small gang if you are cornered.

Yes its very easy to get it as well

Try Calais is France

Its amazing to think that when I started college only 7 odd years ago, to hear of kids carrying knives or such around was rare.........4 years later my brother attends and it is getting more common....

As a female I feel I need to carry something to defend myself, fortunately I have learnt Karate and have done Thai kick boxing........

Still, I don't like walking alone in big cities anymore......I don't and never will carry a knife, but sure as hell wish at times that I did.
