New laptop help!
 

Ive just purchased an Advent laptop with Vista pre loaded no disk. Most of my software is only XP compatible which i have on my PC i also have the disk. My first question is can i partition my hard drive or hide vista out of the way and install XP and use that as my operating system?
Second question is there a way to run the laptop off a car jump starter with 12v sockets or the cigarette lighter?

You can use something like partition magic to install xp and dual boot between the two.

Dell sell something like what you're after for some of their laptops so you should be able to get something that works with you cars cigarette ligher.
