vista logon screen
are they stored as seperate pics that can be edited?
got a prog that changes them but want to edit the standard half blue half greeny/yellow one, where can i get hold of it? |
You can change it in User Accounts, Change Your Picture. Browse for more in there and select any picture.
The default ones are in: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\User Account Pictures\Default Pictures |
If you'd like to copy your current picture, it is stored in the following file:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\<username>. tmp.bmp The default user picture (the flower) is stored in the following file: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\User Account Pictures\user.bmp |
i mean the wallpaper, what you see when you lock it
found where theyre stored but not the builtin ones |
Download ResHacker. The images are held in %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\imageres.dll
Open imageres.dll in Reshacker. Under `IMAGE` are the logon jpegs, each number represents a different resolution. Here are the corresponding resolutions: 5031 = 1280x1024 5032 = 1280x960 5033 = 1024x768 5034 = 1600x1200 5035 = 1440x900 5036 = 1920x1200 5037 = 1280x768 5038 = 1360x768 5039 = 1024x1280 5040 = 960x1280 5041 = 900x1440 5042 = 768x1280 5043 = 768x1360 Now select replace resource and click "open with new resource" Now locate to the image (it must be jpeg) you want to replace the original image with (it must be the same exact size as the original). Then fill in the boxes: Resource Type - IMAGE Resource Name - 5034(or whatever your screen reolution is) Resource Language - 1033 |
You can select an image and right click it to copy. Just paste it into a graphics package.
