ESB PLEASE PAY ATTENTION

Guys,

I feel i have been resonable and patient with you guys and the work/problems with my car over the last few months. After having the engine fitted i have encountered 1 problem after another and on several different occasions the car has been sent back and i've been told the problems have been fixed. Some of the problems include:

1) radiator mysteriously breaking.
2) car idling like a tractor.
3) car cutting out and only starting after a push/bump start.
3) problems with the breaks.

None of the above were a problem before the car came in for the work.

and also being left stranded on the A130 for an hour after collecting the car and being told it was running fine, it just needed petrol.

after each of the above the car was returned to which it seemed the problem was still there or another arose.

Now to cap it all off it appears the engine has now given up.

All i want is to speak and get the latest problem resolved, but how can that happen if you do not return my calls (over the last 2 days).

Sorry to have to post on here, but i feel i am left with no choice as i am still awaiting a call back.

Please return my calls so we can sort this out otherwise you leave me no choice but to look at pursuing other avenues.

Cheers

Spally

:eek2: Paul, you do seem to have the most awful luck with that car.
Hope ESB get it sorted for you soon, shame you have had to resort to public name and shaming to try and get it resolved :(

spally 16 August 2007 09:13 AM

i know mate, the car has been jinxed since day one. Am very close at the moment to parting from scooby ownership for a while.

Not had much joy with the car or some of the people that have "done work" on it.

It may not be anything to serious as i am no mechanic, just want the guys to speak to me so i can get it sorted whatever way.

I dont normally like washing my dirty linen in public, but if it means getting things resolved then so be it.

cheers

Hope you get it sorted mate, and things will work out whatever route you decide to take. All the best :)

Spally

Posting this is a very serious thing to do. I'm not suggesting it is right or wrong, and the fact you have done it in a dispationate and matter of fact way (for which I thank you), with no name calling, etc means it can remain on scoobynet for now.

But. I ask you to, please, show complete balance, and to

a) Include any factors which might sway opinion to be less sympathetic to you which you may have left out of your original post. (It will honestly come out in the end now this is a public issue).
b) Be sure to update everyone if the matter is resolved. All companies make mistakes from time to time, but if they sort it out to your satisfaction, that is to be respected just as much as getting everything right first time.

ESB, feel free to contact me on webmaster@scoobynet.com or PM webmaster if you wish to discuss this.

-

This leaves me only to say, I wish all parties all the best in getting this resolved.

spally 16 August 2007 10:46 AM

webmaster, thanks for that.

I know that posting on a public web site can be very difficult and therefore ensured i only posted facts.

As soon as the said people are in contact and resolve our issue i am more than happy for the thread to be removed.

thanks

spally

I don't think anything should be removed. I believe that now you have posted this, and made it public, you need to post the balancing points in order to show it has been resolved.

It isn't fair to post something negative and then not post the outcome / resolution.

The fact is, there are always two sides to every story, and in our vast experience of running ScoobyNet we have seen time and time again that there is usually a little more to the story than what was initially posted.

I'm not suggesting this is the case here, but nevertheless, I'm sure everyone would be pleased to hear how this is resolved, and then we'll know it wasn't just a tool to get the results you want personally.

spally 16 August 2007 12:21 PM

totally understand mate.

:)

spally 16 August 2007 04:08 PM

i had no intention of bringing it this far, but if i dont get the service or at least a phone call back i think i deserve then so be it.

all i want is what i paid for, a car that goes and stops. At the moment i have neither.

cheers

spally 16 August 2007 10:50 PM

still.....waiting........ 1 phone call is all i ask for!!!!

EmEm 17 August 2007 12:44 PM

Hi Spally,

Firstly, I apologise on behalf of ESB for not calling you back. I hope you can understand though that Jamie is the only mechanic in the workshop now, so is extremely busy.
Please can you PM me your best contact number, and I can assure you we WILL call you back!

Thanks.

spally 17 August 2007 01:03 PM

Hi Em,

Thanks for your reply, although if Jamie had explained on Tuesday that he was busy it would have saved a lot of unecessary grief.

Due to my work load today cant really talk on the phone until 6ish. At which time you guys are more than welcome to ring, otherwise i will be popping tomorrow.

Thanks

Spally

I'm sure any issues you have will be sorted to the best of ESB's ability Spally,

Good luck with the outcome :thumb:

ESB. Thankyou for trying to contact myself today. Unfortunately due to the bottom falling out of the global markets i was unable to take the call.

I will give you guys a ring on Monday.

Again thanks for attempting to contact me.

cheers

Not sure you should be telling everyone about your bad habits :p

97Catalunya 17 August 2007 11:07 PM

Hey Spally I know you have had a lot of problems with your car recently and I really hope the guys @ ESB get it sorted for you ASAP :thumb:

On that note can I say thank you to EmEm for getting my braided brake lines sorted :thumb: now all I have got to do is wait till my friend has enough time to fit them LOL

NickBes 20 August 2007 05:11 PM

I just wanted to say that I have just had a gearbox fitted by ESB and I thought the service was good and the car is much better then it was before, they are always very helpful when I pop in :-)

P.S. Love the new car Em :-)

edited on my brothers request.

NickBes...fair comment mate, for every 1 "bad" experience there will be 3/4 maybe more "good" experiences.

Although i must add, i do not have a problem at all with the people behind ESB, in fact have found them very friendly.

I just have a problem with my car that needs sorting.

Sorry this is Spally didnt realise i was logged in as my brother.

bibo_boy 21 August 2007 07:39 AM

What I will say about the above is that ESB has changed it's organisation and hopefully this will help resolve the past issues?

What I will say is that to compare them and their customers to the likes of Extreme / Mocom etc... isn't fair.

Disclaimer:

This is not aimed at anyone in particular! I hope all issues get resolved :)

spally 21 August 2007 07:51 AM

let's hope so mate, although found out yesterday i am gonna have another 2 weeks due to holiday.

and your point about comparisions is fair. I have certinaly not based my judgements against anyone else. Just on what is happening between myself and ESB at the moment.

oh well driving around in the astra for a few more weeks to look forward to!!!!

bibo_boy 21 August 2007 07:54 AM

Fingers crossed mate!

*****UPDATE*******

Asked a friend to come round tonight, cheers Spec C, to have a quick look at my car to see if the problem was something little.

As it turns out, all that needed some attention was a dodgy connection on 1 of the HT leads into the ignition coil.

So BIG thanks to spec C i now have a running scoob again.

spally 21 August 2007 08:47 PM

still thinking about getting rid of the car though.....has been 1 problem after another.

Think it could be time for a nice cossie for 6 months / year then back in a scoob.

Spec'c'57 21 August 2007 09:08 PM

:norty: what you need is a spec'C'...... ;)
