Take home pay question
 

My nephew has just started a new job at £6.50ph - (labourer) - 40hours a week

He's single and living with his parents, no kids - i've no idea so thought i'd ask on here what his take home pay should be

any ideas?

£180 - £190 a week

so 40 hours at £6.50ph + £260

this means he loses £70 - £80 a week in tax/ NI

and all these scroungers get more than that for sitting on their fat arses all day :(

I think you will find that it's nearer £215 - cheap to have some pride :thumb:

I have to agree with Pedro here: £260 gross and £210-£215 take home.

I am in the same Tax bracket as above, basically inculding NI take 24% from the total before tax. I:e £100 equals £76, when whitehall have had thier fill!!.

Make sure he sees what he is entitled to if he has any kids.
