India and Pakistan..talk about hate!

Independance day and the celebration of the dividing up of India and Pakistan

Watching 'The day India burned' last night I was horrified.

60 years ago is not that long ago.To think people were willing to chop their daughters and wives heads off to avoid them being molested made me feel sick.

I just did not realise how bitter the Sikh/Muslim thing was.

Very, very sad program.Mind you, what goes around comes around.Seems UK is now the Jewel in the Crown:)

The media have been very quiet about it also being the 150th aniversary of the 1857 Indian Mutiny, probably far too bloody and not PC enough for them.

Sikhs, Christians, Westerners, Hindus, cartoonists, Jews. :Whatever_

The whole Muslim hatred thing is really boring me now!

Nothing at all to do with that.

It was an incredibly important event.A country was divided up.A new country was born 15 million people crossed the border and 1/2 million people died while the Brits legged it.

The horrors were on both sides and they were appalling.

But,if you think its about dutch cartoons,err....ok:Whatever_

I watched the program too and thought it was quite shocking - especially as the 2 communities appeared to live side by side quite happily before British rule.

However, the thing that got me was that it seemed that some of the bloodshed could have been avoided if the British had handled it better - no surprises there then!

The cartoons were Danish actually! ;)

No I don't think that Muslims hate Sikhs because of cartoons, I never said that, I was just responding to the OP which said he didn't realise how bitter the Sikh/Muslim thing was.

My point was that Muslims seem to hate everyone, including "different types" of Muslims.
