Recommend me a good pitstop
 

I'm travelling oop from Brighton to Yorkshire on Thursday [long drag with a 3 year old, wife has laryngitis [sp] so that's half the battle won :D]. Basically sick of stopping off in motorway service stations so I'm looking for a good place to eat just off the motorway. We're travelling up the A1.

We'll want to stop at about 12.30 to 1 so we will be between Bedford and Nottingham [depending on the traffic and time we leave].

Anyone got any good recommendations :D

I stopped at a Motorway services recently and they tried to charge me £1.79 for a 500ml bottle of water! WTF!!! There was an M&S food thingy in the same place where I could get the same thing for 60p.

Have a look at 5 Minutes Away. I've found a great pub off the M40 that's better than any of the service areas.
