Is there another way?

to tell what size injectors are except the colour?

Recently I have been looking into upgrading to Nismo 550cc injectors which are yellow. Last night I stripped my inlet manifold out the car for re-painting and noticed the injectors that I have in the car are yellow :wonder:

I am now wondering wether these have been upgraded already while the car was still in Japan.

What colour are the standard injectors Subaru fit in the factory?

Thanks for the help :thumb:

greys are 380s, yellows are 440s in a scoob, and i might be wrong but i thought nismo 550 injectors were red, im sure somebody will correct me on that though

On the website I am looking at (flat4online) the Nismo 550's are yellow
http://www.flat4online.co.uk/catalog...fuel-injectors

Nismo 740's are red

APEXi 550's are yellow, APEXi 740's are red the same as the Nismo ones and SARD 850's look orange

i told you i might be wrong lol, so if you upgrade from the ones you have you will make a little increase over the ones you have.

Yeah I understand that bit, I need to know if there is any other way to tell the size of an injector, except by using the colour.

We dont know half the stuff these crazy Japs make, so am thinking there MAY BE a possibility another company MAY have made smaller injectors than 550 in yellow.

If I go fitting the rest of my mods thinking these are 550cc and then head off for a mapping session only to find out they are not, and I wont get the power figures I expect, then I will have just wasted at least £250 on the session, not to mention the cost for me to get off the Isle of Man to have the car mapped, see where I am coming from?

i see what you mean now, was struggling to understand your question, but i am not aware of how to tell if they are standard subaru injectors or whether they could be uprated ones from japan, done before you got the car.

could you not attend your mapping session with the intention of replacing the injectors and then if it appears that the injectors that are in your car are sufficeint then you will not need to replace them, however if they are not sufficvient then they will have the uprated ones there to swap at the time if needs be

Just would like to be sure what they are, before the mapping session thats all. Like if there are any distinguishing marks on them that would tell me what size they are.

could you ask your mapper if they could give you some info about the injectors before you go to see if you could decipher which ones they are.

that would be too easy :lol1: but your right :D

was sitting at work twiddling my thumbs so I thought I would ask here to see if anyone knew.

best bet is to get the injectors from Lateral or Zen (cant remember which) that way you are dealing with experts who know exactly what your getting and they probably flow test them as well. I think the only way of you knowing what injectors you have are by flow testing them

All I can say is that I have a 1 year on from yours STI and that has yellow 440cc Denso injectors that were factory fit I believe. I have just ordered a set of 550 Nismo injectors from Nengun. I did my best to find some other good bits on there to buy at the same time but couldn't! :(.

Cheers Nick
I had never heard of Nengun before but have just registered and checked out thier website and they are considerably cheaper for the Nismo 550's than anywhere else I have looked.
