faith restored in royal mail

sent a recorded delivery with cash inside for something i won on ebay i posted it at post office onthe 7th

about an hour ago a chap knocks the door in a suit etc and showing id as a royal mail inspector i was somewhat confused lol

anyways he had caught some scrote at the sorting office opening and stealing my letter and various others, on cctv too, and he had come to take a statement and return my cash !!!!!!

he said many they actually cant prosecute for as no sender details were on envelopes etc so how glad am i i put details on

big thumbs up for royal mail only thing is i gotta go resend the money now lol

The problem with sending cash (especially to an Ebay user) is that it can go missing at the sorting office or the eBay person can just say it turned up without the cash inside.

Much to risky.

shouldn't be sending cash recorded delivery, if you had made a claim they probably wouldn't have paid out, your only supposed to send cash by special delivery. so you were very lucky :)

No faith in Royal Mail. They strike:brickwall . Must avoid at all costs. Use private companies wherever possible who don't strike. That'll teach them:p

trouble is there's no alternative to royal mail. Never had much trouble with them but it would be good to see if someone else can do it better?
