Camera Footage at Track Days

I recently did a track evening at Cadwell Park, anyone using video equipment had to sign a disclaimer to the effect that it was for private use only and not to be broadcast on any media including internet.

Does anyone know why they (and most other tracks don't) do this, and if it is a valid document?

I can't see any harm in showing others track action, thats partly the point in getting the kits in the 1st place.

What? This Cadwell?

Yep thats the one last time (1st time too) I was there, about June, there was no such brief, but they must have bought it in since:wonder:

It may be because of the 'notorious' videos from 'Hot Hatch' days at Knockhill that resulted in a big hike in their insurance premiums. Because of this all trackdays there have increased in price substantially.

Beware. Bulletin boards and Video sites are monitored by all sorts of people, including insurance companies, the police, the intelligence services and camera safety partnerships.

And how does that relate to making a video of a track day?

Subaru were not paying out on warranty claims when they had video footage of cars being tracked - quite right too .......

Well it obviously relates to the increase in insurance premiums for track owners. Also as PSL points out it can affect your warranty. Also it could affect any insurance claim if they suspect it happened on a trackday. This caveat also applies to still photographs of track days posted on public forums.

I enjoyed that video, brought back some happy memories of one of my favourite tracks. Just had to treat Barn corner and Charlie's with a little respect!

Cant think why you did not overtake that other car while going down the short hill after the Goose Neck!

Les :)
