You need at least 1 rear fog light, but not fronts (I think). You need a cat on any car registered after '93 (sorry).

only 1 rear fog light is needed to pass an MOT, but you will have to source a cat from somewhere

But you do need a foglight.

1994 - mmm, 13 years old - I would be more worried about the rust...especially on an import which will not have been undersealed...

Edited to say - Only joking!!! Just looked at the pics of your car and it looks very tidy!!!

rabskyline 12 August 2007 12:16 PM

ive brought in loads of old wrx's and never seen any rust underneath regardless of age or mileage....they dont use any bad **** on their roads at all.......:notworthy anyway, you might be ok with the decat but the fog is part of the mot unless as someone said, you know a good mot tester...i do but you are too far away !!:lol1: ...they are 5 quid with a switch..do it yourself. a piece of piss.............:thumb:

No you dont. Only JDM cars manufactured after September 1995 require a catalytic converter; cars manufactured before only need pass a pre-cat test. If they are ignorant of this then refer them to the helpline.

I didn't know that this was legal, just, and moral ....................

Simon 69 12 August 2007 12:45 PM

Moral and just Peds: think of all the CO2 that youre not emitting as a result of not having a catalytic converter..... ;)

Theres a flowchart in the manual used to help the tester make a decision. Its been posted several times but itll be a bitch to find without a proper search facility. Perhaps someone will oblige?
