blow off valve stopped working

i have a hks blow ssq off valve on my 98 impreza which has suddenly stopped working this morning. Apart from the valve maybe being faulty is there anything else that could have affected it? If the valve is faulty doed anyone know of any problems that this model encounters and is an easy fix?

thnx

i have the same one on mine and i used a little tape for a more secure/tighter fit and with the heat it melted the glue on the back of the tape and sucked it into the bov, failing that it may have siezed, there aint alot to them mate.

could be the diahfram(cant spell) sticking. Im near sure you can take them apart and service them

Id have a look at the vacum hose to the manifold if its come off it will never dump
are you still hitting boost?

Other than that it could be a diaphram as above

i bought this car with the dump vavle fitted and dont know what should be where!
i had a good look at it last night! the bov is cutting the revs when idling! when i push on the diaphragm it idles true! the inlet to the dump valve from the intercooler is fitted fine, but what is the pipe on the side of the bov for? it has a blanking plate at the end of the hose!

also i noticed that there is a pipe on the inlet manifold that is blanked off and also a port on it as well blanked off! these are located on the right side of the inlet manifold! what is going on here! dont know my way round scoobs yet! toyotas were my thing!
i will try to post some pics ups!

is this to adjust the bov?

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/Image002.jpg

what does this pipe do? the end is a plate with a small hole

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/Image001.jpg

what is this blue pipe for? again has a plate with a small hole at end

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/Image000.jpg

what is this blanked off pipe for and why has it been blanked?

sorry for all the questions, but i lack a haynes manual and did not install the bov.

thnx

The pipe in the last pic is the vented return, which used to blow back into the system on the original bov, its blocked off because it now goes to atmosphere. Just fitted a turbosmart to my car, thats the only reason I know that.
It does mention though that if the idle time is wrong then adjust the valve to tighten the spring inside - it may be worth looking up a manual on your bov to see if that is the adjuster.
One of the other pipes must be where the pressure is expelled and the other may need to be connected as mines is.
I'm sure the guys who have fitted these will know better.
