WHINNING NOISE OVER 130...
 

MY04 Sti8 with Prodrive springs, 18" PFF7's.

I noticed again yesterday that when I go above 130 (on a track of course...) that there is a whining noise coming from the r/n/s (rear passenger side.) I first notived this after the strut had been replaced (again.) I would suspect that the wheel bearings have been tightened up too much following the works.

Any suggestions?

Is it a kind of ne nah ne nah type whining or is it more like a mother in law saying slow down again and again? ;)

We have had this, and on mine it is coming from th wing mirrors. Spoke to Subaru and they said it is common. Know others that have the same problem when doing silly speeds.:nono:

I find that leaving the missus at home cures any whining problems at silly speeds :cool:

windows on subarus are frameless so when you drive at high speeds:norty: the wind pressure forces its way between the rubber surround and the window hence noise.:thumb:
