"Surging" sensation

Occasionally when accelerating pretty hard, I've noticed a "surging" kind of feel to the car.....kind of ...... non-linear acceleration.

Hard to describe really. Doesn't do it all the time though, only now and again.

Car is a 2004 MY05 Sti PPP

 :wonder:

I get a similar sensation when accelerating in my car but that's a different story :lol1:

could well be surge - nearly all of them have it (to some extent) though it is harder to hear on unmodded cars due to the airbox. I was told this by Bob Rawle who seems to know a thing or to.

Aaah....so it's normal?

Will a remap sort it out, or is it just a characteristic of the car? Don't remember my classic doing it.

peculiar to that style of car Marty with the VF35 turbo..................

a re-map may make it worse at certain rpm's

Try cleaning the boost control solenoid and pipework with some brake cleaner, it may have some oil residue in it.
