no oil showing on the dip stick?

i recently flooded my engine with petrol, by trying to start it with no intercooler. Anyhow did a oil change etc and cleaned the plugs. presto it started first time. I put in 3.5li of oil and pre filled the oil filter. But ever since, still no oil showing. does that means theres still some petrol in the sump? and the engine is fine, but is shaking a little, like all most cutting out, but idles fine, do you think thats the petrol still circulating in the engine?

an impreza takes 4.5 litres of oil for a start so your a little short on oil to start with :thumb:

I'm sure these engines take 4.5 litres. :wonder:
Flooding the engine wouldn't let petrol into the Oil.
Only into the cylinders, where its meant to be.

I'd fill it till the level is correct on the dipstick. Before you drive it any more.

yes it will.. it will pass the rings and enter the sump.. it is only mean to be sprayed in and burnt not sprayed in and not burnt and then more sprayed in etc.. :) it removes the oil from the cylinder / ring and is generally not a good thing.
