Power FC base map 97-98

How do I get the base map from my Power FC. I have datalogit and FC-Edit and was wondering if this would allow me to obtain the original map the FC comes with.

Save existing map
Initialise FC
Save this initialised map
Write the first map back

Does this sound ok, or do I have to do the learning part as well?

Also, the sample EJ20K map that this ship with the FC-Edit software, is this the base map I am looking for.

I only want it for comparison.

You get it with the FC-Datalogit when you buy it. Not much good without it.

Save your current map
Initialise your PFC
Save the base map to a different filename
Reload your current map onto the ecu

:)

I've never had a problem with the ecu relearning idle after a map load, although it's not going to cause any problems by letting it sit idling with A/C etc on for a few minutes.
