Self tuning an apexi fc v2

Hi,
just fitted my power fc ecu and commander. I started to get high nock values so took -4deg out of base map and added +0.023 on the injectors.
max knock now is in 4th gear at about 44-46 value.
What i need to know is how to go about altering the base map in setting mode for both injection and timing to suit the car. as the hole map does not need altering I just need to concentrate on certain areas. but where should concentrate on.
i will eventually get a professional tune up but i still have a few things to buy and fit to make it worth while. so would like it to be safe as i continue.
any help or ideas greatful.
cheers:thumb:

Best to get it mapped by a pro. unless you've already kitted out the car with a wideband, det-cans, and logging software.
It's money well spent cos you get a set of optimised maps that you can work from when you're ready to map it yourself.:)

I found a very helpful forum which gives a step by step 'how to' on using a Power FC and remapping via Dataloggit which afaik is the only software/hardware set up which will allow you, the user, to have FULL access to the ECU. The PFC Commander is useful but impractical for mapping.
Anyway:

goto: NewCelica.org - Complete 2000+ Toyota Celica Resource

then goto: forum

then: Performance Mods (22 Viewing)
Sub Forums: ECU Tuning

click on Sub Forums: ECU tuning, and you will see the Sticky on using the PFC

hope that helps

Chris

Nice one, very helpful.
just got to order the datalogit bits and wideband oxygen sensor.
should be fun, supprised no one on here has done a project on this yet.
As soon as i get all the equipment and self tune it, i'll post up the rsults.
