Just how much damage has been done here??
YouTube - castle combe trackday action

codie247 16 July 2007 09:30 PM

You don't get much change out of them tyre walls:eek: . Mind you my mate lost his Escos last year at Castle Comb, and went through the gap in the tyre walls and hit the gate post backwards:cry: .

v5 man 17 July 2007 12:45 AM

I know that corner very well :D

frayz 17 July 2007 12:49 AM

Chavaliers were doing so well ,
Cossie was a tough one to watch :(

That poor guy that got hit by the beemer though :(

DannyBoy007 17 July 2007 10:02 AM

OMG, some bad ones there, I've been there and seen some of those crashes and they didn't look that bad but seeing them from another angle makes you think they might of been bad after all.

Nice to see both of the cavaliers hit the same spot!!!!

daz_don1 17 July 2007 12:21 PM

all the cavaliers did exactly the same thing lol

come on hands up people who had a cavalier lol:freak3:

94legturbo 17 July 2007 02:58 PM

feel for the guy who's car got wiped out by the bmw, was the evo guy braking at all? or just understeering i guess.. the cossie was horrible to watch, however i managed a giggle at the chavaliers

good save by the 300zx too *i meant to do that* lol

Apparently (as per conversation on MLR) the guy had total brake failure at almost 100mph!! :(

mike h 17 July 2007 11:51 PM

I'm wondering how on earth someone got enough speed up to spin a Triumph Toledo!:lol1:

That's what the guys on passionford guessed after seeing this video last week :( It was a nasty accident and so was the Cossie one and the Z3M although at least the Z3M driver missed the Lotus driver.....Just!!!! :eek2:

v5 man 18 July 2007 12:18 AM

I`ve watched that footage over and over again now. What you notice is how that corner spits you out into the tyre wall if you get it wrong. Not me though, I ended up in the field opposite!!! :freak3: :lol1:

I've seen (live) a 6 month old 997 written off at Coombe (Avon rise, just before Quarry). The car was being driven by the owner's friend. He wasn't insured. To say the two of them looked disappointed returning to the pits in the front of the flat-bed, would be a slight understatement.

ScoobyDoo555 20 July 2007 08:01 AM

Tony (T5NYW) knows that corner quite well too :D

Good vid - goes to show though......gotta be careful :)

the carteram super 7 near the end had to hurt! looked like he got ko'd by the impact.

westy04 20 July 2007 12:37 PM

How do I post a video.
I've some excellent footage of my mate doing a deliberate power slide around that corner in an Rover SD1 Vittese. Can I email it to someone who can host it.
Thanks

Kevin
