Road Tax

Hi Guys,

Am a newbie and looking to purchase a scooby Impreza very soon.
This has probably been covered before but I've not been able to find a thread.

Can you explain, or give advice as to Road Tax. I've been told that scoobys on 51 plates onwards as subject to the highest road tax, where as pre 51 plates do not? Is this correct and how are imports effected?

What is the price of Road Tax on UK pre 51 plate cars?

Many thanks,
Dan

The very latest scoobs face the highest tax, a 51 plate wrx for instance will only be about 180 quid.

Just make a tax disc as its a doddle, photo copy one of your mates discs and edit out his details with a graphics programme and then print it out on a good quality printer and get a perferated cutter.

Obviously i am not suggesting you use this on the road as that would be illegal. :lol1:

As long as the car was registered before the 23rd March 2006 you keep out of the silly high tax group. My car is 7 days too young... furious!
