Hi Guys.
I am in the process of making my own 'STI' style mudflaps, the thing is I'm having a job finding the reight material. What I'm looking for is a sort of nylon typr stuff, thats not too stiff so that it's brittle, but not so flexible that it folds up at 90deg to the road when I'm shifting on.
Has anyone got any idea where I can get it?
I've tried Peter Lloyd Rallying in Bridgend, the stuff that they do is too flexible.
So any ideas? Oh and I want it in black.

Are you using the instructions from the guy who posted from Canada??
If you are beware.If you follow his diagrams the holes in the flaps an the ones in the brackets don't line up.The ones on the diagrams of the flaps are the right ones to use.

I too think the price of mudflaps from Subaru a bit of a joke with Graham Goode still too much.

Pete Croney take not there is a massive market for mudflaps at a decent price.
Surely we can get some little back shop in China to knock them out for 20 pence each and sell them to use lot of 30 quid a set.

I too will be hunting down some suitable material at the Motorsport Show in January.

I've had a set of the Prodrive ones fitted. Very smart, not too obvious and very effective. £8.50 each!

Where did you get the Prodrive flaps, any pics.

Got from main dealer, but no pics am afraid - will take some and post when developed and scanned.

They are black rubber, and fix to inside of wheels arch

You can always try my patterns if you wish...
There are about 100+ Imprezas that I know of running around the US of A with these on now.

If you follow the instructions and make some templates you'll see what I mean about the holes not lining up but it's easy sorted.
So far costs are
£28 for 2m of material+P&P (enough to do 4 plus some spare)
Metal for brackets was free.Find a sheet metal workers localy to you and go and ask for some off cuts (mine was galvanized 18 guage I think)
Fixings £5 from B&Q + clip nuts from Subaru
(I've ordered these but can't remember how much they are)
And a days work to make and fit them and hey presto cool mud flaps.

Thanks to North Ursalia I saved a packet.

So for £33 + P&P + cost (if any) of the metal brackets + a day of your time, you can have four mudflaps.

You don't hear this very often, but the Prodrive ones are fantastic value http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif Even if you went for four of them, it would still come in under £40! (plus upto a whole 10 minutes to fit them all if your dealer wouldn't do it http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif )

I have today ordered enough material to make two sets, all for £31, offcuts of stainless via a cousin who is a fabricator so it was free!
Hopefully its the right stuff, we'll see.

I assume the holes on the flaps are correct as per the above point?

Dealer took less than 5 mins to fit two. Undo two screws, clip guard on, screw screws back in - doddle!
