Hi,

A little bird told me (well, all of us) that you are considering importing some head up display units... is this true? If so, have you got any details, i.e. will it be the Defi ones, estimated price over here etc?

Also, would you consider importing dashboards like the Tommy Kaira one? I think they look absolutely superb ...

In case anyone hasn't seen it check this out:

Why dont you just order the one from takakaira.com, they do have a warehouse in Warrington i am told?

Looks cool, only problem would be it reads in km/h and not mph?

hey all,

i've been looking at those takakaira dashes as well. mostly because my scoob (US spec 5 door) is currently undergoing some vital organ transplants. i'm putting in the whole drivetrane from an STI Ver V and was planning on using my old dash. the tach goes to 8K (redlines at 6K) so it should be sufficent to the task but if those takakaira's weren't so darned expensive i would get one. coincidently if any of you guys get an upgrade and want to sell your old dash i'd be willing to buy it. hey just in case.
later all,
-Lou

I do indeed have a HUD device on order, (amongst other things) http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

There are some technical and fitting issues that need to be reviewed when I receive them.

Not looked at the dashboards yet, too many concurrent projects slow things to walking pace.

Soon as I am happy that they are OK, I will let everyone know. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

coolio, thanks for the response Mike http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Will you be announcing it on your website? Something that may be worth considering is a mailing list for notification of new goodies, if you haven't already got one http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Mike Tuckwood 03 December 2000 10:19 AM

All things new invariably will be announced on the web site, so keep popping in. (New stuff is usually shown in the scrolling type thing on there (non tech description). http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Lee is currently planning substantial alterations to the site as it has grown much larger and faster than originally anticipated.

Changes should happen in the early part of next year. Mailing list type scheme is being looked at already.

Cheers

I looked at getting the Defi HUD when I first got my car, but decided it would be too much of a pain to try and hide the sender unit.
Defi even sent me an electronic Xmas card, and were very helpful sending me wiring diagrams and everything. I was just a bit concerned about warrantyissues if anything went wrong, so a UK supplier would be great. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
