Late Classic or WRX?
Hi.
I am looking to buy my first scooby and am slightly torn. The Classic 2000 Turbos are a much better looking car than the newer shaped WRX, so i am unsure which way to go. Any advice on 2000 Classic or 2001 WRX????? Thanks :thumb: |
Personally I would look for a mint, low mileage classic, probably an RB5 WR.:notworthy
Don't go for a Bugeye WRX :nono:. I did and regretted it very soon after. All IMO. |
I would defo go for the classic imo. :thumb:
Would you not consider a classic STI? |
classic here as well

Is that an import?
I have been warned off imports for parts reasons???? I am open to advice. Just looking around at the moment. |
Yea import impreza's are totally different to the uk versions......
its the same car for gods sake...... parts are no harder to obtain at all |
All of the classic WRX's and STi's are imports, there are UK spec Turbo 2000's, RB5's and P1's..
Parts are the same.. other than a few tiny variations (window tints, etc.) but insurance companies are just PEENARSES.. to be fair I'ed be more worried about an import car because theres a HIGH chance its been clocked. |
is that true?
i did not know that |
And my tupence worth.. The classic WRX and STi are faster cars, however you'll pay through the nose for a immaculate example.. Personally I'd go for a UK WRX bugeye as they are peanuts at the moment and throw a few hundred quid at the engine.

Classic - quicker cos it's lighter
Newage WRX - better built, better interior, safer. S'up to you ! |
I almost bought a 22B but went for the new age STI instead because you simply don't have the interior refinements in a 90s car we have come to expect. but it is really down to what you want. If I was buying a racing car I would have picked the 22B every time over what I bought.

Classic all the way :D
