Steve Prockter 30 November 2000 03:31 PM

Sorry mattski I know FA about computers. Dial Pipex is the ISP though.

Can you sucessfully download the file then, because when I tried the link to make sure it was okay I just got an error message when Windows Media Player fires up?

Steve

Rich_R 30 November 2000 03:35 PM

Steve - I get the same error

Rich.

DrEvil 30 November 2000 03:37 PM

Steve - you mean Saturday @ 2pm ish @ Boxhill, right??

Cheers, Alex

Steve Prockter 30 November 2000 03:43 PM

DrEvil......Saturday then at 2.00pm

Rich......I don't know whether anyone can help here. It only seems to happen with MPEG2s but not MPEG1s. If any one can throw some light. What for example is Microsoft ActiveMovie control and is this needed for MPEG2s, as my system asked me something about this which means nothing to me?!

Steve

mattski 30 November 2000 04:03 PM

I get the same error, and Linux KDE2s mpg player won't play it http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif

Tony Quinn 30 November 2000 05:01 PM

I can't play it either. It looks like media player requires an update, but we don't have permission to do such things to our computers at work. Bloody NT!

DrEvil 30 November 2000 05:04 PM

Same prob as you Tony http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif

TRIGGER 30 November 2000 05:41 PM

I cannot open it either - looking forward to the vhs video.

See ya Saturday.

Steve Prockter 30 November 2000 05:46 PM

I am currently changing the file to a MPEG1 as I have asked several people what the problem is and knowone can give a satisfactory answer.

Give me a couple of hours and I should have it sorted.

Hmmm, 1 Hour and 4 minutes on my dial up line

It'd be quicker to drive over and burn a CD with it on http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Any chance of a 'little' version ? the whole track but maybe 1/4 size or less quality ?

Gary

DazV 02 December 2000 01:34 PM

Vid problems:

Windoze 9x can't play mpeg2 (even though mediaplayer says it can in some cases)

Don't use mpeg2 as it'll be far to big a download (albeit nice quality clips). You'll also need a special mpeg2 player to play clips.

Recode into mpeg1 - that way, clips will be small in file size and windoze 9x will play em no probs.

Great video Steve. I really liked the full version too. Never realised that you were into AC/DC though. Great stuff.
