tip for cheaper insurance.
just renewed my insurance on the scoob.
admiral turned out to be cheapest for me-37, max no claims, no convictions etc. premium is £628 with declaring nur spec-r and prodrive wheels on 03 sti type uk. protected ncb comprehensive cover, low excess £250.:thumb: so heres the tip to get your premium down,:norty: simply add your spouse or partner! i saved £80 i tried taking her indoors off my policy to save a few quid, and found with most companies it actually increased premium:wonder: i assume this is perhaps because someone who is married is supposedly more responsible and a less likely risk. dunno for sure, but bottom line is premiums can be reduced by having a spouse driver added, and then they are always there to bring you home from the pub.......everyones a winner:thumb: |
I've always added someone else onto my policies. I'm 27 and don't stay with my parents but found that adding my mum as a named driver on the policy reduced it by around the £80 mark with Admiral. Think its something to do with them being a woman and deemed lower risk. She's never driven any of my cars but she'll stay on there if it saves me a few bob!

Its called a married persons discount. I have it on mine and it reduced my insurance by a whopping £225 pounds!!

If you have access to other cars, say so. There's usually a box to fill in a number - 4 does nicely as they think their risk is being spread about a bit and others trust you to drive on their policies. If you are single, always add your Mum if her licence is clean - as others have pointed out, this can be worth quite a reduction.
