Have I bought the right cam/rocker cover gaskets..
I've got a very slight oil leak on the drivers side and as I'm taking the block out to do the clutch release bearing I thought it would be a good idea to replace the cam/rocker cover gaskets at the same time..
I've bought a pair like this: http://www.dohc.co.uk/temp/scooby/ro...ver_gasket.jpg Could anyone tell from the photo if they are correct for a MY97 Turbo 2000.. They'll hear me swearing from the Mir Spacestation if I find out they are wrong after I've pulled out the engine and stripped it down :D Thanks in advance peeps :thumb: |
Yes. Obviously, the large gasket is for the 'rim' of the rocker cover, the two smaller ones are for the spark plug/coil pack holes, and the packet is for the 10mm bolts.
Also, applying a small amount of gasket sealant may also help. |
looks fine, ive just done a pair.

Cheers guys!
As I'm sure you know theres nothing worse than pulling an engine out and realising you've got the wrong parts, its saturday and everything is closed! First time I've done rocker covers on a scoob, looks simple enough though :) Dont worry MSP will be putting a nice thin layer of jointing compound on them just to be sure! :) |
