Travelling around the M25 yesterday afternoon, traffic not to bad, except for a bloke in a Silver Puma who was sat in the outside lane, nothing in lanes 2 & 3 (BTW we are in a 4 lane section B4 you ask). I travel up behind him doing 80-85 (alright 90-95!!), where upon he sits there for well over three miles. I'm not the sort of bloke to flash his lights, nor undertake, so I held back. But, what really took the Hob Nob was that with little more than a 100 yards from the next exit, he travels across all four lanes and buggers off.
After all the recent chat about foglamps being on when its not necessary I'd like a vote. What is more annoying??????????? Ed. |
Its got to be both ;)
Nath |
Yep both - can't wait to get the driving lamp conversion :D :D
Chris |
Got to be the outside lane hoggers, he didn't have a "MY OTHER CARS A MERC" on his bumper did he:D. Foggers, you can drive or let past, so no problem.

Lane hoggers are the worst. Middle lane hoggers seem to feel more secure there. Cant understand why - don`t they realise they can be hit from BOTH sides! Although 70mph in the outside lane is as fast as anyone should be travelling, http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/pope.gif it`s always sensible to move over for those speeding illegally and let them get on with it - less chance of being part of their accident. (blimey, I`ve come over all law abiding - must make an appointment at the Doc`s!!)
Why don`t they make low-mounted lights legal to use in any conditions and be done with it? Does anyone out there know the original reason for that regulation? JohnD |
Er..... lane hoggers with fog lamps on?
|
Tricky one.
But lane hoggers gets my vote. After a reasonable time, I do flash my headlights for them to get the message. |
I like people who drive towards me with there fog lamps on it gives me great pleasure in putting my spotlights on them however if I've dazzled 100 offenders only 1 realised and turned his fogs of.
|
lane hoggers,without a doubt.
foggers dont bother me,i can honestly say i have never been blinded by them, same as the funny little lights for windscreen washers,i think they look silly, but they do me no harm. steve |
lane hoggers and fog lights when its not foggy.
these people need to be taught a lesson, or do i mean "educated", because alot of the time they actually dont know they are doing it. sometimes they dont know what day it is , or even who they are. youll just have to excuse them. that is :- untill the law says youre allowed to force them over and perform grotesque acts of barbaric torture on them. you tend to find better lane discipline in most other countries. why not here? |
Both BUT none so bad as the Mobile phone users - especially those with `Children on Board` stickers and unstrapped kids.
Cheers |
Here's the cure for both - Morettes + HID + Philips Vision plus in main beam + 130w PIAA's = 500w total :D:D

It's got to be lane hoggers-I keep expecting to find myself on Police Stop for undertaking!!
|
Lane hoggers suck the big one. Especially those that hog the outside lane and then flash their highbeem at you when you undertake them.
Ignorant bar-stewards. |
I go for foggers as they bug everyone coming towards them but outside lane hoggers only annoy the ones coming up behind them. Honest officer I never go above 70mph.
Also if you do pass a lane hogger then you get his fogs in the rearview mirror!!! Alasdair |
hoggers
|
hoggers...sounds like Fridays thread in the EVO forum eh DJ?? ;)
|
Get a Lotus and you'll find that lane-hogging is no longer a problem - they all rightly pull over to let you through.
Very weird but it's true - at least 90% of cars just pull over and let you past, even in heavy traffic. The sensible ones realise that by letting some nutter in a flash car past then they can stop worrying about plod for a while as he's bound to nick the flash git ! |
Both as bad as each other - both ignorant bar stewards.... It's got to the point on the bike where I don't even bother trying to *ask* people to move over on a m'way. I just use the empty lanes.. oh dear, did I undertake..?? Surely not.... Flashing people with fogs on does nowt. Mainly 'cos they don't even now they're on most of the time!!! But, pray, wot is that little light on on your dash board..??? I stopped in one of these chicane typre traffic *calmers* and mentioned to the guy waiting that he had his ffront fogs on (it wasn't foggy before you ask...). One was set so high it was really dazzling. Oh have I he said..?? Didn't give a monkeys. And he wouldn't have got stopped for it. Now if he had been doing 31 in a 30..... :-)) Dave |
I find the RS4 is a good tool for getting lane hoggers to pull over as the front bumper and grill give it a real badass evil look or perhaps it's just cos' it's an estate and folk think its the traffic cops!
|
LOL @ Dave - great pic m8ty :D:D:D
At least with Lane Hoggers you can "undertake" and leave them behind - you can't *make* a To$$er with his fogs on turn them off (even if it's amusing trying to convince them with your PIAA's ;););) ) Matt :) |
OI DAVE, turn down them lights, I have blobs all over my screen. :D
P. |
Got to agree with the Hamster. My ex hired me a 911 for my 30th birthday, of cause I had to clear the cobwebs out on the M11. Lo and behold the outside lane cleared like the Red Sea.

Matt
Digital camera - one of the best fun things I have ever bought!!:D:D Sith Sorry mate:D The camera didn't like it much either - for some reason it didn't need the flash:D:D |
Ed
You mean even BM s and Mercs get out of the way for porsches? - heck I 'm getting one! (I just drove 7 hours from Edingburgh to London behind an army of lane hogging t0ssers.) [Edited by zoog - 12/31/2001 11:56:22 PM] |
Zoog,
Me thinks that you should also remember the tribe of the Forgotten Repmobile. Where only the Mondeo/Vectra/Primera live too!! Ed. |
