BUMPER / SPAT / SIDESKIRT REMOVAL HOW?
 
hi there people. having recently bought my scooby wrx, i now intend to repaint all the dull crappy painted plastics on them. i have jus painted the spoiler which looks spot on. i jus need a quick pointer on removing front , back bumpers and skirts and spats. jus some quick info for when i get down and under so i can do it quickly cheers dan

Sideskirts: one trim clip either end, pick the pin out of the centre with a sharp point, then it'll come out. Then about 6 bolts underneath. CARE: these, if rusty, can be a right PITA to remove. Replace them with stainless ones available from a local bolt and nut stockist.

Rear bumper: IIRC, one trim clip under rear, then 3 bolts either side along a chassis leg, visible from under car. Remove bolts and bumper slides backwards, it has two steel "legs" that locate inside the chassis leg.

Front bumper: never done it, sorry.

Spats off rear bumper: about three trrim clips and one bolt, then pull spat off towards rear of car. It slides, with MUCH FORCE towards rear. Leave in place and have them painted with bumper if bumper is off.;)
