Competition a generation ahead
New model out in a couple months (september)

On the basis that the new model is out soon I dont think I would be able to part with the money for that vehicle at this time no matter how good it is and how tempted I would be. Chances are once the new version hits the street you will have wished that you waited.

If you dont need the space just buy a MK2 audi TT in the mean time and enjoy some practically free motoring. Those TT's just refuse to depreciate, audi just can build them fast enough :D

AL in "quite useful post" shocker!

milf hunter 02 July 2007 09:50 PM

i didnt now there was a new one in sept i thought the salesman was keen to for the deal thanks for that will wait until sept and prob end up parting with £30k as they will have gone up :thumb:

any ideas on what they have done to the new A4:wonder:

AudiLover 02 July 2007 09:59 PM

New chassis for better weight distribution and ride, refreshed interior, should see introduction of some new engines, car will be slightly bigger. Reports suggest to a slightly sportier stance this time round with a higher waist line. Might see introduction of the next generation of quattro 4wd system.

do you any links for new audi A4 :thumb:

AudiLover 02 July 2007 10:24 PM

Sorry no links available to the public. Have got some more info though

New A4 will have rear LED lights. Shoulder line wavy but not as dramatic as that from the A5

future engines for Audi's range:

-1.6TFSI 130bhp (on the new A4 for spring 2008)

-1.8TFSI 180bhp (maybe this engine could replace the 2.0TFSI 170bhp unit)

-2.4 V6 FSI 185 bhp. Low CO2 emissions, made up from the 2.8FSI (2009), with 2 valvelift on both sides of aspiration/exhaust system.

-2.0TFSI 300cv. (S version of TT- 2008?)

-2.5 TFSI 350cv 5 cylinders, derived from a volumetric+turbo evolution of the U.S. engine for Rabbit and Jetta. The turbo has the variable geometry system like last 911 Turbo. But is possible that this engine will be only for the RS version of TT. (second half 2008)

-3.2 V6 TFSI 310-->330 bhp. With twin-turbo system and the same technologies of 2.4 FSI

-4.2 V8 TFSI 450cv. with 2 soft turbos to increase the torque and maintein the high rotation of 8250 RPM. (2008-2009.The 4.2FSI remain the only V8 with direct injection system)

-1.6 TDI Common-rail (C-R) with Blue-tec system capable of 115bhp (2009 on A3 and A4?)

-2.0 TDI C-R 170 bhp blue-tec (2008)

-2.0 TDI C-R 204 bhp blue-tec (2007)

-The blue-tec version of 3.0tdi capable of 260 bhp (end of 2008 on A6 restyling: will it arrive also for new A4?)

- Starting from the 3.0TDI a new 3.0TDI with 2 turbos (one small and one big like 335d) for both sides on the V6 (a tot of 4 turbos). 350bhp for A6 and A8

I think you are probably better off asking someone who has owned one of these, let alone driven one.

IMHO you'd be mad to part with that cash for a new one now - depreciation will be a disaster.

milf hunter 03 July 2007 08:07 PM

 Not according to the JD power surveys. They don't seem to beat the Japanese in any class:norty: marketing over reality.

The Dealer Guide is out this week, so should make interesting reading.

Yan. What about the new C Class?

Matteeboy 04 July 2007 01:56 PM

No Audis in a recent Which survey either.
BMW make a good showing though...

:cuckoo:

Do you really think the most reliable car according to that survey does any real driving? Its driven by grannies and mothers around the local village to and from shops/schools.

Audi's are driven up and down the country and round the tracks ;)

Luxury brand picks up top honours in car security awards

Audi was yesterday named as the best manufacturer for car security in the 2007 British Insurance Car Security Awards.

The award is given to the carmaker that produces the safest model ranges over the 12 months to the end April.

Audi was named as the best manufacturer for car security in the 2007 British Insurance Car Security Awards.
The Audi TT won best convertible, Audi S8 best performance car and Audi Q7 best large 4x4.
The awards were established in 2004 to recognise those manufacturers who have produced the most secure cars, and to raise consumer awareness of what is best in vehicle security.
