Well it's in my garage somewhere :(

Oooh bugga! :( Hope it's not too deep in the garage chap.

And if that's a pond in the front of the photo, your fish will have gone AWOL too!

I hadn't thought about that

ScoobyJawa 26 June 2007 10:59 AM

oops!

jowl 26 June 2007 11:33 AM

No pond! It was just a little planty bit. We've only recently moved in and hadn't done anything in the garden.

When I put the car away in the garage on Sunday night, I wiped down all the wheels because they had muddy water from the puddles. What a waste of time!

Still, it's not in the house (was VERY close last night) and we're all okay....even of the gf couldn't get home last night

Brun 26 June 2007 11:51 AM

deansscooby 26 June 2007 11:54 AM

If I'd been at home I would have moved it or whatever.

By the time I was home it was too late to do anything.

Good News: Starts and sounds well. Some water in silencer but was quickly and forcefully ejected!

Bad News: Inches deep standing water in rear footwell.

Any advice on what to do/likely damage. Kept bailing out but it kept pooling. Going to try and get a wet-vac type machine.

Luminous 27 June 2007 09:13 AM

Sorry to hear about the car, but it sounds like you may have just got away with it.

I think you need to find out the nature of any pollution that was in the water. If there is sewage then you will almost certainly have to do a bit of extra work to sort things.

I am no mechanic, but I think there are various sorts of breather pipes/seals and stuff that the water could have got into. Would probably be best to take it somewhere for the once over to get their opinion on any work that may need to be done (eg changing oil in diffs etc).

Yep, was from High Green but moved to Dinnington 6 weeks or so ago.

Luminous - It's due the 90k service....so will get them to check it all out.

wagonstimark 27 June 2007 06:50 PM

wet vac

wickes diy store do a cheap wet and dry vac. about 25 quid i think.
never used one thou.

jowl 27 June 2007 07:49 PM

Had bit of good luck today..

Bloke in the Units across from ours happened to have a valeter coming today...(valet man also has a scooby)

Got it wet-vacced - still a little wet but clean. I'll borrow a wetvac and have another go later. Or maybe even buy a cheap one as above (cheers)

Bloody boiling on the way home though with the windows shut and hot air blasting out!
