I am selling a meticulously maintained and very powerful silver Subaru Impreza STi Version 4 – widely regarded as the best classic Sti that Subaru ever made!

This car was imported when new and spent four years being serviced by Crossroads Subaru. The following owner used Power Engineering. I, the third owner, have had the car exclusively looked after by Special Scoobys. As a result the car has a fully stamped service history and a folder full of invoices.

Due to oil pump failure I had the engine fully rebuilt to a fantastic specification by Special Scoobys in August 2006.

I have owned the car for 12 months and in that time I have had the following work carried out:

Full rebuild using all new parts as follows: ACL race big end bearings, genuine Subaru main bearings modified for improved oil distribution, version 9 STI crank, one STI conrod and piston (others were undamaged), Roger Clark Motorsport modified oil pump, genuine Subaru gaskets and seals, Subaru timing belt, Subaru oil filter, Subaru piston rings, Cometic competition multi layer metal head gaskets, Samco coolant and turbo hoses and a Green air filter. In addition, the heads were stripped, decoked and rebuilt. The engine came with a 12 month warranty and this runs out on 2 September 2007. The engine has done 8000 miles since the rebuild.

Replaced MAF (low mileage secondhand part), new ECU temp sender and thermostat, Black Diamond grooved front discs, Black Diamond Predator pads front and rear (3000 miles ago).

Whiteline Anti Lift kit (comfort spec).

Silkolene Pro series engine oil at every change (twice in the last 12 months).

Full geometry set up (which required one Eibach camber bolt in the rear to ensure the rear camber was fully square) by Elite of Rainham.

Additionally, the car had a reconditioned gearbox and AP Racing organic clutch fitted by the previous owner.

The car is fitted with a GT CAT1 alarm and a Tracker Monitor system.

In the interior, there is a steering column mounted boost gauge. There's also a set of nice Revolution mats with Sti embroidery.

Of course since the car is a genuine Sti it has:

* Lightweight Aluminium bonnet
* Lightweight Aluminium bootlid
* STi carbon strut brace
* STi stiched logo 'red wing' sports seats
* STi fog light covers
* STi gold 5 spoke alloys
* STi rear lights (red/grey)

The car has a new MOT that expires July 4 2008.

The car is only ever run on Shell V Power.

In November of last year I had the car dyno'd at Power Engineering where it made 302 bhp and 256 lb ft torque.

This car feels as fresh and tight as a new car and is testament to the way it has been looked after. Trust me, you will not find another car with such an impeccable history. The mileage of 121,000 should not put you off.

The bodywork is good for the year with only a few dings that can be easily removed by a professional. However, the wheels are quite marked.

Considering the specification and impeccable history of this car, it is for sale at £4400. I am based in Stevenage.

Do your research and you will find a lot of early STI engines let go around the 50K mark. This one didn't until over 100K - she's been very well looked after and has already had a rebuild so YOU don't have to pay for it yourself! Why risk a lower mileage car that hasn't had a rebuild?

Thanks for looking.

Such a cheap car.
I have a MY96WRX which in 6 years i have spent some 10k to 12k on.
Makes me realise i will be keeping it until it falls apart.

Good luck with the sale,fatastic value for sure

Thanks Waggy. It really represents a fantastic buy for the next owner. Everything has been updated and replaced to ensure a car that will keep on running and running. The engine builder said he would still honour his warranty if I tuned it up to 350bhp - there's testament to how good the build is.

Is the market completely flooded and fooked or is 4700 really asking too much for a car that has a literally new and very strong engine, remainder of WARRANTY, replaced gearbox, replaced sensors, full MOT, and has been properly cared for and serviced every six months? :brickwall

You might be right.
I have been following several cars bechmarking to my modified Sti V3....

Your car is an absolute bargain and you are right to question the situation.

I bet if you had some nice tasteful 17's on it you would be surprised.

For those who know, this car is the right one to have and develop or simply enjoy.

An Sti on the road is a very nice car.

good luck.
Graham.
